On the 9th of January, 2009 there was a oil strike in Mumbai that caused chaos in the city as taxi and auto drivers could not access fuel. The attached article talks about how certain ambulance services were forced to take their vehicles off the road as they were unprepared for such a strike and ran out of fuel. 1298 is proud to be mentioned in the article as one of the only ambulance services to be prepared and able to still run vehicles during the 1-day strike period.
