Importance of fully equipped Ambulance

Any tragedy can be taken to either success or failure within the first 10 minutes of medical attention. This crucial period is also known as THE GOLDEN HOUR. Quick and the timely help provided in this period can be the difference between life & death as the pre-medical aid would ensure that the victim is nearly saved till the appropriate treatment can be made available from the nearby hospital.
Golden Hour may be defined as the period during which all efforts are made to save a life before irreversible pathological changes can occur thereby reducing or preventing death in the second and third phase. This period may range from the time of injury to definitive treatment in a hospital.
How does an Ambulance help?
·  Quicker transit to hospital as they are given first preferences. Remember, quicker the availability of medical aid, the better.
·   State of the Art equipment ensures a smooth transition from the house to the hospital in a safe environment.
·    Trained EMT/ Paramedics on board ensure that patients are stabilized and managed while they are being transferred to the hospital with much required Pre-Hospital Care.

Why Ziqitza Health Care Limited?
Apart from the above benefits, our  Ambulances also provide:

·         Life Support (BLS) techniques by our training arm LifeSupporters Institute of Health Sciences.
·         State of the art centre equipped with the latest technological tools that include:
Integrated Services Digital Network (ISDN) Lines
·         Computer Telephony Integration
·        Voice Logger System
·         Global positioning System (GPS)
·       Automatic Vehicle Location and Tracking and General Packet Radio Service (GPRS) network
The technology enables us to locate the Ambulance nearest to the patient and then locate the nearest Hospital ensuring quick response time.

What can you do?
Whenever you spot an accident or come across any medical scenario which requires attention, Dial 1298 immediately to get aid. Available in Mumbai, Kerala, Punjab, Bihar & Odisha

Safe Diwali

Safe Diwali

Ushering in truth and light, Diwali is celebrated nation-wide at the dawn of Amavaasya every year. It symbolizes the age-old culture of our country which teaches us to vanquish ignorance that subdues humanity and to drive away darkness that engulfs the light of knowledge. Diwali, the festival of light projects the rich and glorious past of our country and teaches us to uphold the true values of life.
On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, the following tips can go a long way in making the celebrations safe and memorable for you:

Eating tips:
  • The festival brings with it its own set of preparations & rituals. Even then to enjoy it the fullest and avoid stress along with physical illness, it is imperative to have healthy & small meals while juggling between meeting visiting relatives, organizing Puja at home, burning crackers & shopping. Also, Diabetics and the people with high blood sugar level must be very careful during Diwali and avoid high intake of sweets.
Safety During Burning Crackers:
  • Always accompany children while burning crackers
  • Be alert while burning crackers as clothes are prone to catching fire
  • Only buy crackers from authorized dealers in order to ensure its quality
  • Have a bucket full of water ready as a precautionary measure
  • Avoid putting crackers near diyas, candles as they may lead to explosion and may injure you
  • Keep all the emergency numbers handy like Police, Ambulance, Hospital to save the time during emergency.
 Celebrate an Eco-Friendly Diwali

Eco-Friendly Rangoli: Rangoli is an essential part of any Indian festival. Instead of using harmful chemical colors or paints for Rangoli design, you can substitute them with rice flour, pulse, flowers, eco friendly colors and leaves.
Save Energy: Since people decorate their home by lighting them up. This places a huge load on the power supply system. One can save a lot of electricity by opting candles and diyas for decorating their home. Even though they consume oil, these lamps are usually used only for a short time.
Prevent Water Pollution: Water is a precious commodity & irregular rainfalls have made it more scarce. Encourage people to burn crackers away from these useful water bodies so that clean water is accessible throughout the year
If possible, avoid crackers all together, remember its a festival of lights not sound. The same can go a long way in soothing elder people who yearn for peace in these times.
For any medical emergency Dial 1298 for Ambulance for immediate assistance and support as every second counts during medical scenario.

Give Way to Ambulance

With the increasing traffic on the roads, Ambulances have a tough task in taking the patients to hospitals on time. The reasons can vary from no lane system on a busy urban road, the traffic being jam packed in either direction to non-existence of Sidewalks/service streets or being heavily encroached. Frequent rallies being conducted also do not help the cause.
Though in some cities, drives are conducted by traffic police and citizens alike, to make people aware about the gravity of the situation; much is left to be desired when it comes to saving a life.
And this is here where we as individuals can do our bit. We in India care equally about people than in any other nation, all it requires is a little awareness on our part.

Following are some tips that can go a long way in giving way to Ambulances & saving Lives

  • Slow Down – It goes without saying that whenever we spot an  Ambulance we let them pass without any hurdle, it’s our duty than a rule
  • Drive responsibly– Traffic congestion generally happens when we try to wriggle out generally ending up blocking others path.
  •  Follow Lane System – It might set you back by 5 minutes in reaching your destination but its goes a long way in maintaining a clear path.
  • Be Responsible – Whenever you spot an Ambulance stuck in the traffic behind you, just inform the policeman in charge to help clearing its way. A small gesture can go a long way.
  •  Be Sensible – A small scratch on the car is not worth in endangering a life. Take your vehicle to the side of the road to sort out issues with irresponsible drivers than creating traffic congestions
  •  Carpool – Lastly, carpool. The benefits go way beyond  with reduction in pollution, decongested road, healthy environment & social interactions being some of them

Remember, Driving is a privilege not a right, your responsible action can save a life.

Act before time passes by...

While the nation suffers from rising inflation, increasing prices & fiscal deficits, there are certain areas where our alertness can not only save crores in Rupees but priceless lives.
Did you know? India suffers a staggering hit of Rs.1 lakh crore - every year due to road accidents, according to the International Road Federation report.
According to Planning Commission studies during 2001-2003, that is nearly a decade ago, the total losses to the economy due to road accidents in the year 1999-2000 were pegged at Rs.55,000 crore -, some three percent of the country's GDP.

This means the losses have almost doubled in the last decade. The losses take into account victim-related costs, property damage and administration costs.

What we can do?

Stop Drunken Driving – Though the police is doing its job, it becomes our moral responsibility to follow the rules in letter & spirit because when we are behind the wheels, we are not only responsible for our lives but others on the road as well.
Be Pro-active – If you witness an accident, take the initiative to call an Ambulance than waiting for someone else which will lead to wasting time during this critical moment. Just dialling 1298 or 108 at this juncture is all that would take to get immediate help.
Wait for an Ambulance – In severe cases, it’s preferable to wait for an Ambulance as the paramedics are equipped to handle the victims in emergency situations, thus avoiding further damage. Before the Ambulance reaches the spot providing the basic First Aid would also minimize the loss. Now a days the Ambulances are equipped with the latest technology to run initial scans /treatment on the way to hospital, thus being the difference between life & death.
Be Patient - The short temper on roads and low regard for traffic rules, by both motorists and pedestrians is a common sight these days. The rules learnt as a child still hold good. Starting early for the destination would result in a happy commute for everyone.
Be safe: A helmet not only makes you safe but also adds to your look. Grab one from the range of sturdy and well designed ones and get ready to make heads turn. Do remember to fasten your seat belts whether  you are behind the steering wheel or sitting on the passenger seat. (PS: don’t forget the ISI approval J )
Most of the problems that we face can be resolved by practicing little discipline on our part. And in this case, not only will it save crores to our economy but the priceless smile of a child, joy of a wife & security of a family.

The author Dr.  Vaishali who is  a veteran in Emergency Medical Response Services  Hospital Care from Ziqitza Health Care Limited, pioneer in the field of Emergency Medical Response Services.

Safety during Ganesh Chaturthi

Safety during Ganesh Chaturthi

The festive season in India has begun. Starting September, the festive calendar beams with the arrival of Shree Ganesha into our homes, the celebration of victory of Good over Evil (Dashera), the return of Lord Rama (Diwali), the birth of Christ before we finally bid 2012 goodbye.
The celebrations along with the fun, excitement, Family get-togethers and re-unions also bring fatigue due to excessive preparations & arrangements undertaken.
In such a scenario, any lapse in concentration can lead to major mishaps. The same can be easily avoided by keeping the following thumb rules in mind and keeping emergency numbers of police, fire brigade and Ambulance:

To avoid possible dangers during Visarjan you should keep in mind a few simple things. Make your Ganesh Chaturthi happier and safe by following certain rules of thumb.

Processions

The responsibility of guiding the procession should be entrusted to at least two persons. One should guide the road traffic and other should lead the procession through the correct route.

There should be at least four people to hold the ropes form both the sides of the processions. This will help the processions to move ahead easily and will be convenient for vehicles to avoid accidents. You can also ask the mothers taking part in the procession to take care of their own children as they are most prone to accidents

Crackers

Avoid lighting crackers while the processions are moving on the road. This will help avoid pollution. Happiness and joy is better enjoyed when everybody’s safety is ensured

Precautions at the sea-shore

If the idol is too big you can arrange for a boat. At least three to four men who can swim should enter the sea. Keep the children away from this task. Make sure that the life-guards are present at the sea-shore. Make sure that you do not throw the garlands and flowers offered to the idol in the sea. Immerse the idol in artificial ponds created by the government if available. Also, keep an ambulance service at bay since last moment availability in case of any mishap might be difficult, due to the festive occasion. In any mishap during the procession near sea shore make sure you call the Ambulance which will provide immediate assistance during any medical scenario.

Eco-Friendly Festival

Try to celebrate Eco-friendly Ganesh Chaturthi as far as you can. This will makeGanesh Visarjan safer for you and others too. As pollution hazards are increasing day by day one can look at buying small Ganesh idols. All the Ganesh idols either small or big give equal amount of blessings to devotees. Remember that safe celebration means unlimited happiness and blessings form Lord Ganesh.

Last and more importantly, don’t let the celebrations act as a hindrance to those who need medical attention. Give way to Ambulances.
Wish you all a happy festive season ahead.
